Hey all!

Been a while since I bothered posting here, since there was absolutely nothing I could do to revive the game from the state in which it was left. That has since changed, and I now have access to the means to better the game, and bring it to the state in which it was originally meant to be played.

I think that sp should only be gained when someone does a rp deserving of it. This prevents people from standing around and getting a friend then say "Hey lets just punch each other until we gain enough sp to max ourselves hax." this has been happening alot during the test server and while it is a test people still want to play the game and people who continue to use that method to get machine gun punches and op str and def are starting to ruin rp for some people. So if sp is only granted to people who do deserving Rps instead of people who just do one rp and then stand around and block/punch each other until there stats reach over powered levels then it will balance the game play and promote more rp.

Indeed. I don't very much like automatic SP gains, someone could just stand there with someone else and bump it up immensely.

Yeah, that is usually why most people prefer to RP the whole fight, although then usually it gets out of hand because neither of the people want to die.

[DEV] Allsmiles use her admin verb to create a hole in the middle of Edo square. Sucking in a bunch crowds after crowds, the hole began to expand! Destorying trees and making houses explode. [DEV] Allsmiles does a million backflips to create a tornado using her 8 legs to create the wind gust, the tornado blew a hole though everyone's faces. I win

Yeah problem with the idea of just granting people SP for RP, is that the admins will probably not be able to keep track of every RP that goes on and some people who did do great RPs would probably not get rewarded accordingly. Seen it happen before on other games...By the way, machine gun punches usually occur due to styles, not actual SP, as speed got nerfed a bit too much for that.

If you mean, giving admin a verb that grants SP, so they can give it to players, then this is a bad idea, for two reasons.

1. The admin just gives himself all the SP he needs.

2. The admins won't be able to be alert when someone is roleplaying and people will complain over OOC.

This is what happened on Cowed, with a RP points system, it was good to begin with, but then people complained that they kept roleplaying but admins never seen it.

1. We do not. We have a verb called 'RP Bonus'. Using this grants any selected player as much Yen and SP as we want, I only use it when someone has been bugged and needs to recreate.

2. I suppose this could be true, but we have an RP Log system, allowing is to look back on a lot of emotes.

Yeah, I still don't really think making it based on pure RP, for SP gain is a good idea, since on MANY games, admins say they can keep track, they never do keep track enough to reward everyone. It's not only straining for all the admins to reward everyone and look through all the logs or pay attention to every single person, but some of the players tend to get discouraged when their not rewarded, it's like stamping them as bad RPers if they don't get any SP, even though they can in fact, RP in a much more detailed manner, or are able to more give a more vivid image to the reader of their RPs.

2. Are you taking it upon yourself to sit and watch the logs?

Look, corrupted admins will no longer be admin, it's simple. We had things like this in Alpha, Smiles stripped them. Also, I like to look at logs a lot...It's pretty much what I do for hours on end when I log into the game.
